Tracy Hollenbeck, owner of Sweet Cheeks, started baking when she was a teenager. She let go of the hobby when she started college but came back to it six years ago. With a rediscovered passion for baking, Tracy decided to start her own business. Sweet Cheeks Bakeshop opened March 2, 2021, and sells a variety of baked goods including cinnamon rolls, sweet rolls, scones, cookies, galettes (rustic pies), brownies, muffins, and more.

“Creativity and joy inspired me to start Sweet Cheeks,” Tracy says. “I like trying new recipes and incorporating locally produced ingredients. Everyone is happy with a treat in their hand, and I love making connections with customers.”

Tracy and her family own a ranch outside of Starbuck, Wash. When her youngest daughters graduate high school, Tracy and her husband will permanently move to the ranch.

“I’m finding that the Dayton community embodies many of the charming small-town qualities I’m looking for,” Tracy says. “It has an active downtown area, interesting and unique retail and food offerings, and the people have been so welcoming, helpful and kind. Residents seem to have a real sense of pride for their community and history while at the same time are open to growth.”

When she’s not baking, Tracy enjoys spending time with her family and animals. She loves being outdoors, and her favorite activities are kayaking, hiking, and yoga.
