Blue Mountain Station® has an understanding with the School of Food Science, the merged food science faculty of Washington State University (Pullman, WA … http://sfs.wsu.edu) and the University of Idaho (Moscow, ID … http://www.ag.uidaho.edu/sfs) that will allow Blue Mountain Station® Partners access to world class product development and testing facilities, and the opportunity to manufacture and market, under license, award winning products developed by students of the two universities.
Available facilities include:
- Food Processing Pilot Plants (Pullman, WA & Caldwell, ID)
- Quality Assurance Laboratories
- Consumer Sensory Testing Laboratory
- WSU Creamery
- Dairy Products Research Laboratory
- WSU/USDA Wheat Quality Laboratory
- Food Product Development Laboratory
Blue Mountain Station, in cooperation with the Agriculture Center of Excellence Program located at Walla Walla Community College (www.agcenterofexcellence.com), will provide Blue Mountain Station Partners with training and support that may include, but is not limited to the following:
- Business management and technical training courses that are available and appropriate to the needs of the Partners.
- Student interns for cooperative work experience.
The Washington State Department of Agriculture’s International Marketing Program (www.agr.wa.gov/Marketing) will provide international trade specialists to provide export training and assistance to Blue Mountain® Station Partners. Additional “export experts” will be brought in as needed to build the Partner’s export team.
Financing
The Port of Columbia has access to a number of financial resources to assist Blue Mountain Station® Partners such as the Washington State Rural Washington Loan Fund, HUD 108 Loans and the Washington State Community Development Block Grant Float Loan Program.
